You want to have your own home studio but you are not a tech fan; in this article I will help you do that. The first thing you should get is a computer, personally I like the feeling of a white slick mac book. Also, to have an ultra-speed home editing, you can get an iMac that have an extra 2 gigs of RAM. A wonderful addition in Mac is that it has a Garage Band which is wonderful in the market of s/w.
The second tool you must have is the microphone, Studio Projects B1 is a great one it’s cheap, take a good beaten, and very versatile. The third thing is the software, in my opinion as I said previously Garage Band is wonderful as it is the most user friendly software for you to start with. It gives a good sounded tune just by clicking a button.
The forth tool you need is an audio interface if you don’t know it, it is what makes any voice that is yours or any musical instrument shows up on a computer. A great one is Mbox, it has only a couple of inputs also it is compact.
The fifth one is midi controller. You got an ambitious sound in your mind and you don’t have a way to have an access to any session musicians, midi controller is great for this purpose. Also you can use it to have some bass guitar or some string just fire up the M audio keyboard; from this you can use a program with the name reason that will lead you to over a 1000 really good high quality samples which you can use for the previously mentioned purpose.
Now with the drums which are the sixth tool you need to have in your home studio. The Dr Rhythm drum machine collection is very good. If you are not very good with it and you can’t hire a drummer just keep it simple.
The important thing that you must have is a TALENT if you don’t have it all the previous stuff are not important at all, take some time and work on yourself to produce original and interesting stuff.
What I mentioned in this article is all are very simple as they are just the basics, some people may require more expensive stuff from you but those can do a lot. I hope that I helped you knowing what you have to get to have your own personal house studio.
