Choosing paint for your walls is not a matter to be taken lightly. You do not go to a store and just pick any can of paint at random just because you like the colors, and then go to your house and start spreading it on the walls. There are different types of wall paint, and each of them has certain qualities and disadvantages that you need to take into consideration before you purchase any of them. Here we will tell you about the different types of paint and their effects.
1- The most known and used type of paint is gloss paint. Gloss paint gives the surface of the wall a high shine. This is not always an advantage since flaws are clearer on glossy walls. One coat of gloss paint is never enough and it takes a while to dry so that means hours of waiting before the paintjob is completely done.
2- The second most known paint is matt paint, or like some people prefer to call it interior wall paint. The finish has no shine so it is good if you do not want people to focus their attention on the walls. It is the perfect tool for hiding imperfections.
3- Satin paint has a moderate shine. You can think of it as something in the middle between matt paints and glossy paints. It is good for walls that get dirty then are cleaned often. It still has a shine that is high enough to show flaws in the walls.
4- Many people prefer to use eggshell paint. It has a delicate shine and it does not show imperfections. It is easy to use and you only need one coat of paint.
5-Matt enamel paint is much like matt paint. It lasts longer than matt paint though and it is easier to clean and maintain. It is perfect for places where the walls get dirty often like the kitchen.
You know now about the five types of paint: matt, matt enamel, eggshell, satin and gloss. Each of them has its pros and cons that you need to consider before painting the walls with it
